Corby and East Northamptonshire Conservatives
Christine Emmett has been selected as the Conservative candidate for the upcoming Corby and East Northamptonshire by-election.
Christine has real experience of working in business, and will be a leader for the local community, standing up for the entire constituency and working hard for its residents. Christine has worked across a variety of sectors, from being a buyer at Marks and Spencer, to having the responsibility for £450 million procurement for the Channel Tunnel Project, to advising on the £10 billion West Coast Mainline upgrade.
Labour let local people down with their disastrous economic programme of spending money that we didn’t have. We mustn’t let them do it again. By choosing a career politician as their candidate, Labour has shown that they are more concerned with keeping it in the family than truly representing the local people.
We know that Labour will throw everything they have at this by election in Corby. We don’t have the bottomless coffers of the trade unions to fund our election campaigns. The £16.9 million that the unions have donated to Labour since Ed Miliband became leader has given the party a war chest to fight elections.
Our members are our front line when it comes to campaigning. In any election we need your support. With your help we can elect a Conservative MP to represent the interests of the people of Corby rather than the vested interest of the trade unions. We will be running phone canvassing from both CCHQ and Coleshill as well as organising action days and canvassing activities in the constituency.
Conservative Party Candidate, Christine Emmett said:
"I feel truly honoured to have been selected as the Conservative candidate for Corby and East Northants and I relish the chance to fight the upcoming by-election.
"I want to provide real local leadership, standing up for you and being a strong voice for our community in parliament.
"Local people want a local candidate who listens to them and knows how to get things done. I have experience across a number of sectors, having raised money for charity, worked with the health service and run my own business. I want to use my understanding and knowledge to represent the people of Corby and East Northants.
"I will spend the next few weeks and months traveling around the constituency and listening to people like you. I want to know your view, your problems, your concerns so that I can best represent you and serve our community."
